Each holiday season the focus is mostly the same, kids, families, and romance. Though we all love those three things, we are getting excited for some of Boston’s adult-focused events. Oh yes, there are a few events and ways to shift the holiday season theme to one of celebrating and imbibing more akin to how we once did in the college days. All adults visiting Boston over the next month can look forward to the following:
What to do in Boston During the Holidays
Saturday, December 1st
Don your favorite Santa suit, grab your favorite other Santa friends and embark on a pub crawl around Boston. Drinking, dancing, handing out gifts, and being merry are all recommended activities during Santacon, but the variety of what you can do is ultimately up to you! For a few big belly laughs, read the event details here.
Customize a Holiday-Themed Brewery Tour
One of our favorite times to get a group together and go beer tasting is during the holiday season. Most breweries have special seasonal beers on tap, everyone is in a merry mood, and people are in town visiting. There are a variety of excellent brew tour companies in Boston that will customize an itinerary for your party, ensuring you have a day filled with plenty of beer, great food, and transportation. This way, you can relax, savor, and enjoy connecting with your crew.
Holiday Harbor Cruise
It’s fun to enjoy Boston while in Boston, but the views of Boston from the harbor are second to none. Whether you’re planning a bachelor’s get-together, parents-night-off outing, or cousins reunion, a holiday harbor cruise is a great choice. There are a few to choose from, some emphasize music, others emphasize tasty treats, but every single one has a well-stocked bar aboard.
Santa Speedo Run
Saturday, December 8th
The Santa Speedo Run is almost as much fun to watch as it is to participate. Almost. What began in 2000 with five guys looking to spread some holiday cheer by running through Boston’s Back Bay in Santa hats and speedos, has since evolved to include over 700 men and women and has become an annual holiday tradition and has almost $2 million for local children in need. This year marks the 18th SSRun, and believe us when we say it is one of the most hysterical and fun events of the year!
Between hopping around town in a Santa Suit to running across town in a speedo, Boston certainly has some unique adult-focused holiday offerings. Everything mentioned above is a ridiculously fun time, and we are excited to hear about what you choose to participate in! One last note, Boston is brimming with chic bars and clubs, making it an easy city to dance, drink, and dine in. If you’re simply looking for the perfect spot to catch up with your friends or family, check out this list.
For those who wish to stay in the center of all the action, seek out accommodations in Boston’s Back Bay or Copley Square.
